your first song, start to finish
add a song, give the words a quick listen, and sing it.
before you start.
the first time you open baritoad, it asks you to Download the models. they're about 2 GB, run on this computer, and download once. select Download, and when it's done, select Start.
add the song.
- in the library, select Add song… and choose an audio file you own.
- in Add a Song, check the Title and Artist, then select Next >.
- paste the lyrics, one line per sung line, with a blank line between verses. no lyrics handy? select Look up Online, or leave the box empty and baritoad listens for the words.
- select Finish.

baritoad turns the singer down and times each word. pasted lyrics give the best timing.
check the words.
new songs wait under Needs checking. a quick listen is usually enough.
- select the song, then select Check timing.
- click into a line's lane. the song plays from there.
- if a word comes in early or late, drag its block, or select it and press ← or →.
- select Save (Ctrl+S, or ⌘S on a Mac).
sing it.
- select the song, then select Up next (Q).
- in Up next, select Sing next.
- drag the stage window onto your TV and press F for full screen.
- press Space to play or pause. [ and ] make the song slower or faster.
it's not studio karaoke — sometimes you'll hear a little of the original singer. Vocal guide (↑ ↓) turns that up or down. it's still really fun.
next: friends can join a party and pick a song from their phones.
